Welcome to Just For Kids

Exploring Education Beyond the Classroom

Just For Kids is the Boise School District’s on-site childcare program, providing safe, reliable care for children ages 5–12 (Kindergarten through 6th grade). For more than three decades, Just For Kids has supported families with high-quality, affordable childcare that extends learning beyond the school day.

What began as a small program funded through a federal grant has grown into a trusted network serving families across thirteen elementary schools and one infant/toddler program. As our community has evolved, so have we—continuously adapting to meet the needs of children and families while staying rooted in what matters most: safety, connection, consistency, and meaningful learning through play.

Our Mission

Just For Kids is committed to providing safe, affordable, and convenient on-site care for Boise School District families. Our program is designed to complement the District’s educational goals while offering year-round support for working families.

We strive to create a nurturing environment that supports each child’s social, cognitive, and physical development, helping them grow with confidence, curiosity, and a strong sense of belonging.

Program Hours & Bell Schedule

Just For Kids is designed to align with each school’s daily bell schedule, providing consistent care before and after the school day, as well as during non-school days.

Early Bell Schools

• Before School Care: 7:00 AM – 8:45 AM
• After School Care: 3:15 PM – 6:00 PM

Late Bell Schools

• Before School Care: 7:00 AM – 9:15 AM
• After School Care: 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM

Early Release Days
On early release days, after-school care begins two hours earlier than the typical dismissal time for your child’s school.

Non-School Days
Full-day care is available from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM on most non-school days, offering families reliable coverage when school is not in session.
